The Big Barber Bash Wraps Sold Out Debut, Announces 2027 Regional Plans

Australia’s barbering community has shown up — and The Big Barber Bash has delivered.

Across April, The Big Barber Bash toured Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth, drawing sold out crowds in all three cities and welcoming over 500 attendees from across the industry.

Built to bring real education, real competition, and real connection directly to barbers and hairdressers, the national tour combined live demonstrations, career conversations, and high-pressure competitions — all in an environment designed to reflect the culture of the industry itself.

Across the three events, nine competition categories were contested, with 68 competitors stepping up to test their skills live, under pressure, and in front of their peers. From emerging talent in New Gen through to experienced barbers in Freestyle and Fast Fade, the standard was consistently high — reinforcing the depth of talent across the country.

Founder Carmelo Francese said the response confirmed both the demand and the direction of the event.

“The industry showed up. What we saw across all three cities was energy, willingness to learn, and a real commitment to the craft,” he said. “That’s what The Big Barber Bash is built around — developing skill, celebrating culture, and bringing the community together.”

That sentiment was echoed by attendees across the tour:

“Was an awesome night of demonstrations for all ages, packed full of education and inspiration for how to become the best barber and how to achieve goals beyond your expectations. It was very affordable, so no excuses not to attend — a great social night meeting new barbers. So much talent. I’ll definitely be going to the next one.”

“It was great to see it open to young barbers.”

“The panel of guest artists and judges were fantastic — awesome educators.”

“Loved having business people and ambassadors there as part of the discussion, and being able to actually talk to them.”

Each city delivered its own identity — from the raw, community-driven feel of Brisbane, to the scale and energy of Melbourne, and a fully engaged Perth crowd — highlighting the diversity and strength of Australia’s barbering scene.

With strong support from industry partners, educators, and working barbers, The Big Barber Bash has quickly established itself as a new platform for connection and capability within the industry.

Looking ahead, the momentum continues.

The Big Barber Bash will return in 2027, with plans to expand beyond capital cities and take the event into regional locations — making education, competition, and community even more accessible to barbers across the country.

This is just the beginning.

Interest in the 2027 tour is already beginning to grow, with early discussions underway with potential sponsors and industry partners interested in future involvement and collaboration with The Big Barber Bash.
